There are a few moments during the game where the difficulty can be a bit unforgiving especially during some of the S.T.A.R. The specials are fun to pull off if the computer lets you that is. Some arenas like Batman’s Batcave or Arkham Asylum and even Superman’s Fortress of Solitude have various levels that will bring you to a new part of the battle arena while inflicting pain on your opponent. If you manage to fight off your opponent at the right time you can send them fighting for an aerial view of the arena you are in. Other opportunities include getting a tour of the arena. There are moments throughout the fight where you’ll be able to interact with the environment and use different objects if you are using Superman for example you can lift heavy objects with ease and throw them at your opponents to throw him/her off their guard.
The specials provide heavier damage to your opponents and can easily get you out of a jam if used wisely and you have your energy meter built up as well. The special moves are unique to each character based on whom they are. If you find yourself having trouble you can always enter practice mode to tune up on your skills and learn each individual characters moves and specials.
The game has a casual crowd influence on it, catering to a crowd that will easily be able to join in the fight but not enough that hardcore fighting fans won’t be able to join in and have some fun breaking the game, for lack of a better term. There are achievements/trophies for these missions for you perfectionists out there. There is a mode called S.T.A.R Labs where, after choosing your character of choice, you can complete character specific missions, which you are graded on 3 star basis that measures your performance in each mission from the tasks given to you. Outside of the story campaign is where you’ll be able to get to the meat of the game and one I’ve found myself addicted to.
Overall, however, it still manages to hold its ground with some funny banter between super friend and foe so that you are at least convinced of the characters you are following. The cut scenes make it feel like you are watching a DC Comics animated movie. There are a few cut scenes to guide you through the story as well as several mini quick time events sown in that manage to draw you out of the story as well, though it’s not over-done.
INJUSTICE GODS AMONG US UNLOCK ALL CHARACTERS PC FULL
Adding incentive to finish the campaign is if you can’t beat the main difficulty bar it’ll automatically lower itself after every retry to give you the full experience. You’ll jump from character to character as the campaign is split into different chapters separating the various events occurring within. It’ll certainly send a scratch to your head, but that’s about the only head scratcher I could find within the story. It’s both hard and really quite funny how they explain how normal humans are able to keep up in battle with god-like superheroes. You’ll find guest appearances from Black Adam all the way to Shazam and the staples like Superman and Batman.
The story behind Injustice in its ladder based single player mode is quite enjoyable even more so that the casual fan will be able to enjoy. Here Earth’s mightiest heroes are pitted against each other to protect Earth from an invasion in an alternate universe after a catastrophic event destroys Metropolis. Now we finally have a well-received game known as Injustice: Gods Among Us. DC Universe which was a sub-par fighting game at best. The first attempt from NetherRealm Studios was Mortal Kombat vs. Up until the recent generation the only experience we’ve had with our favorite super heroes fighting against each other is Marvel vs. Some of the most popular fighting games have emerged over the years with the two big franchises being Street Fighter and Mortal Kombat. Fighting games have been around since the dawn of the NES back in the late 80s and have continued to provide many different experiences through time.
